Rooted in knowing
The Vedic sciences of breath, time and self, taught plainly and lived daily. Wisdom is not what you read — it is what remains when the book is closed.
Between Veda & Silence
House of Tara · Path of Return · Rooted in Wisdom
A heritage forest sanctuary for ancient Vedic meditation, yoga, tantra and holistic healing. Fifty acres of protected jungle in the south of Sri Lanka.
We do not teach a philosophy. We hold the space where lives are changed through practice — through ancient Vedic meditation, through the honest path of yoga, and through the living traditions of tantra and holistic healing.
Every practice here reaches toward the same point: to dissolve what is false, to still what is restless, and to return you to the ground of who you already are. The forest does half the work. Silence does the rest.
Taravan exists for one reason — to be the place where the seeker arrives, and the seeking ends.
Here, meditation is not performance. Yoga is not posture. Tantra is not mystification. Each is a precise, ancient technology for inner transformation, taught with lineage, held with integrity, and offered within a space that has been protected, in one form or another, for centuries.
Under the protection of Baglamukhi — she who stills the tongue of delusion — every practice at Taravan moves toward truth.
Three currents that run through everything we hold. Not philosophy — lived experience. Not rules — a way of return.
The Vedic sciences of breath, time and self, taught plainly and lived daily. Wisdom is not what you read — it is what remains when the book is closed.
Yoga, meditation, tantra, sādhana. Practice is the path itself — not the arrival. Every morning on the mat is the journey, repeated with devotion and without performance.
The hardest door to open is the one that faces inward. Acceptance is not passivity — it is the courage to see clearly and let the false self fall away.
Led by Maharishi Yoga Peeth — Yoga Alliance accredited RYS 200 · 300. The classical eight-limbed path, taught from living lineage at the foot of the Himalayas, brought into the southern forest of Sri Lanka.
Āsana, prāṇāyāma, mantra, & the inner sciences. Daily sādhana, philosophy under the teak ceilings, kriyā at first light on the cliff shala. Forty-five day immersions and shorter retreats — held in residence, lived together.
A classical tantra immersion in the lineage of the Daśa Mahāvidyā — the ten faces of the sacred feminine. Ancient Vedic wisdom, sound, and ritual, held in residence to return the practitioner to inner liberation.
Tap any name — she will speak. The sanctuary itself changes colour.
Before you take a decision or make up your mind — sit here for a few breaths. Stillness will strike clarity for any insight you choose to carry from this place.
Now that you have come here, we wish to share this aspect of stillness with you — to take with us, or to take with you.
The mandala expands as you inhale and falls back as you exhale. Choose a pattern. Match the circle. The drone will hold the room.
Move the sliders. Choose what calls you. The right doorway will reveal itself.
